Robert Joubert, affectionately known as Rob, is the Founder and CEO of Boomerang BPO, a South African customer experience and business process outsourcing company established in 2005. With more than two decades of experience in the BPO and contact centre industry, Rob has built Boomerang around a simple belief: when you invest in your people and give them the right environment, support and tools to succeed, they will deliver better experiences for your customers. Today, Boomerang is a 1,000-seat operation serving clients across the UK, Europe and Africa, delivering multi-channel customer experience and back-office solutions across sectors including D2C, healthcare, fintech and other regulated services. Rob's leadership focus is centred on building reliable, scalable and resilient operations that combine strong people, disciplined execution and technology with measurable commercial outcomes. He is particularly passionate about challenging traditional approaches to outsourcing and demonstrating that customer experience should be viewed as a driver of business value, rather than simply a cost centre. Before founding Boomerang, Rob held senior leadership positions within contact centre operations in both South Africa and the UK. He is also an Advisory Board Member of CapeBPO, where he contributes to the growth and development of South Africa's BPO industry. Under Rob's leadership, Boomerang has received multiple industry accolades, including BPESA Operator of the Year (SMME) and CapeBPO Operator of the Year (Medium) in 2025, alongside recognition from clients and industry partners. For Rob, the Boomerang name reflects more than just a brand. It represents his customer-centric philosophy: build relationships and deliver experiences that give customers a reason to come back. Outside of the business, Rob enjoys travelling, meeting new people, exploring the outdoors, live music and rugby. He is equally passionate about growing Boomerang as he is about building a business and life that leave room for family, adventure and the things that matter beyond work.
